This Thursday, September 24th, from 6:00 to 7:30pm EDT, Pax Christi USA is thrilled to offer a virtual teach-in focused on the 2020 elections, “Working for Peace with Justice”. The teach-in will more deeply explore four key issues treated in our Statement of Principles for the 2020 elections: racial justice, (im)migration, the climate crisis, and militarism/nuclear disarmament. Our panelists will examine each of these four issues and address their importance within the context of the 2020 elections. Our panelists for the teach-in include:
- Suyapa Portillo Villeda, Associate Professor of Chicano/a-Latino/a Transnational Studies at Pitzer College
- Leslye Colvin, Communications Coordinator for the Catholic Committee of the South’s Gathering for Mission and on the editorial team for the Center of Action and Contemplation’s Daily Meditations
- Marie Dennis, Pax Christi USA Ambassador of Peace and former Co-President of Pax Christi International
- Bishop John Stowe, Bishop-President of Pax Christi USA
