This full-time job is located in Washington, DC, though we are open to remote candidates. You’ll work directly with Pax Christi USA’s executive director and our project director for nonviolence and campus outreach, in close collaboration with other staff members.

Salary: $40,000-45,000 commensurate with experience

Description: Strategizes, develops, and oversees projects related to Pax Christi USA’s preferential option for young adults. Co-leads outreach efforts, including website and social media posts, to students and young adults with a special emphasis on growing our presence on college campuses.

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Project Director for Nonviolence and Campus Outreach, develops and directs strategy for outreach to grow Pax Christi USA’s presence among high school, college students, and young adults.
  • Develops and facilitates programs and tools specifically aimed at resourcing universities, colleges and campus ministries to engage in prayer, study and action on issues of peace and justice.
  • Co-directs the Peace Pairs program, an intergenerational co-learning program between peacemakers. 
  • Identifies opportunities for the involvement of students and young adults in program work and works with program interns and volunteers as-needed.
  • Develops and executes outreach strategies to grassroots leaders and key partners to further programmatic work on nonviolence and student/young adult outreach.
  • Provides assistance with website and social media postings, in collaboration with the Director of Communications.
  • Collaborates with other members of the Pax Christi USA staff on efforts to engage our members, our grassroots network, new audiences and the public at-large as assigned.
  • Works with the National Field Organizer to build relationships with regional and local group leaders to support and elevate their work and collaborate on and promote national program work.
  • Monitors, applies and evaluates analytics and metrics to measure effectiveness of tools and strategies.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned/designated by the Executive Director. 

Other skills:

  • Familiarity and experience with and in Catholic peace and justice movements
  • Spanish language proficiency highly preferred
  • Previous work/ministry with young adults highly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
