As part of the inter-generational focus for the 50th anniversary of Pax Christi USA, Ryan Di Corpo and Isaac Chandler have organized a series of video interviews with past recipients of the annual Pax Christi USA Teacher of Peace award.
Frida Berrigan, a writer and activist in her own right, is the daughter of Liz McAlister and the late Phil Berrigan, co-Teachers of Peace in 2001. (She’s also the niece of the late Fr. Dan Berrigan, Pax Christi USA’s Teacher of Peace in 1989.) Liz McAlister and Phil Berrigan are internationally recognized Catholic peace activists and leaders in faith-based nonviolent resistance, particularly known for their participation in Plowshares actions to raise awareness of and denounce nuclear weapons. They raised their family, including Frida, at the Jonah House intentional community in Baltimore, Maryland.
