Beginning Monday, February 28, Dr. Vicki Vernon Lott will lead an 8-week book study of Caste by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Isabel Wilkerson.
The book study will meet on eight consecutive Mondays (Feb 28; Mar. 7, 14, 21, 28; April 4, 11, 18) from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
Dr. Vicki Vernon Lott works as Associate Racial Equity Consultant for Joyce James Consulting, and is a certified facilitator of Racial Sobriety with Father Clarence Williams. She is a member of the Pax Christi Anti-Racism Team, serves the JustFaith Ministries Board and was one of the primary architects of JustFaith Ministries Racial Justice program series. She and Joyce James serve as co-chairs of the Social Justice Ministry at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Austin, TX, where they hold monthly courageous conversations on racial justice. She received her bachelor’s degree from St. Norbert College in Green Bay, and her master’s and doctorate degrees from LSU. She had a 32-year career in higher education administration, working at five Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Dr. Lott will facilitate a conversation about Isabel Wilkerson’s Caste, which was a #1 New York Times bestseller. Wilkerson is also the author of The Warmth of Other Suns and has received numerous awards for her writing.
Participants will need to buy the book separately and read Part One in advance of the first session. JustFaith Ministries is not carrying this book.
The registration fee is $40 for JustFaith Network members and $75 for non-members.
