DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR: Pax Christi USA, located in Washington, D.C., has an opening on staff for the position of Development Director. Pax Christi USA is the national Catholic peace and justice movement. We work for a more peaceful, just and sustainable world through prayer, study and action. The position is full-time and can be done from our home office in Washington, D.C. or remotely.
Description: The Development Director strategizes and oversees all aspects of Pax Christi USA fundraising and development in collaboration with the Executive Director.

A partial list of the responsibilities of the development director includes:
- Creates, oversees and implements Pax Christi USA’s yearly fundraising and development plan.
- Plans and executes strategies for engaging donors and growing our funding base.
- Cultivates donor relations with special attention to outreach to former donors, religious communities, and grant foundations.
- Develops a strategy and initiates outreach to long-time members and supporters to remember Pax Christi USA in their wills and via bequests.
- Creates a consistent, systematic approach to donor relations from outreach, through regular engagement, donor database management, thank you letters and acknowledgements, etc…
A Bachelor’s degree in related field (Master’s preferred) or 3+ years experience in fundraising and development work is required, with database expertise necessary (Salesforce preferred) and a high level of energy, self-motivation and discipline. Dependent on experience, salary will be between $45,000 and $55,000 yearly, with benefits.

- Develops, implements, and facilitates specific projects, events and campaigns as a member of the Pax Christi USA program team.
- Conducts monitoring and evaluation of projects throughout their implementation and at their conclusion.
- Manages various communication vehicles and platforms (social media, website, email network) for consistent, clear and productive communication between the various components of Pax Christi USA’s national network.
- Serves as a member of the team in the preparation and execution of the National Conference.
- Assists in facilitating working groups which provide expertise and strategy on various program priorities…
A Bachelor’s degree in related field or 2+ years experience in similar position is required, with strong public speaking and writing skills; a high level of energy, self-motivation and discipline; experience in communications vehicles and platforms (social media, website management, design, etc.); and a willingness and ability to travel (when not in a pandemic) all important. Dependent on experience, salary will be in the $40,000’s yearly, with benefits.
