Join us tonight, Monday, March 29th, for our final Pax Christi USA Community Weekly Lenten Prayer Service, from 8:30-9pm ET. Pax Christi USA family members and friends from around the nation will gather to start our Holy Week observances with a short prayer service with readings from our Lenten reflection booklet, Scripture readings, prayers of the faithful, and more. This week, we’ll be specially remembering all of our friends, family members and close ones who have passed over the past year. You’ll be able to add their names into the chat box at the beginning of our service so that we might hold them all in prayer during our time together.
Our prayer service will be right around 30 minutes, connecting us as many are still feeling the effects of pandemic isolation and social distancing. As we prepare to walk these last steps with Jesus of Holy Week, our prayer will also help us focus on our own participation in being the peace of Christ in a world shattered by violence, suffering and greed. We’re so grateful to have former Pax Christi USA National Coordinator Anne McCarthy, osb join us to share a short reflection from this year’s Lenten reflection booklet taken from the Holy Thursday readings of this week. Anne coordinates Benedictines for Peace in Erie, PA and leads retreats on nonviolence and monastic spirituality around the country. Long involved in peace and justice ministry nationally and locally, Anne is also a participant in the Catholic Nonviolence Initiative.
Gather on the call with your families, loved ones, and local groups; all are welcome!
