All friends, partners and members of the Pax Christi USA family are invited to join us tonight, Monday, March 15th, for our fourth Pax Christi USA Community Weekly Lenten Prayer Service, from 8:30-9pm ET. Join with members of the Pax Christi USA family from around the nation for a short prayer service with readings from our Lenten reflection booklet, Scripture readings, prayers of the faithful, and more. This week, we’ll be specially remembering Nickie Valdez, former member of the Pax Christi USA National Council and the Pax Christi Anti-Racism Team and giving thanks for her life and witness.

Our prayer service will be less than 30 minutes and serve as another way to help us all feel more connected during this time of pandemic isolation and social distancing, as well as to help us focus on our own participation in being the peace of Christ in a world shattered by violence, suffering and greed. We’re especially grateful to have Allison Blay join us to share a short reflection from this year’s Lenten reflection booklet. Allison holds a Masters in Theology from the University of Notre Dame, and, for the past 17 years, she and her husband Steve have coordinated Friends Across the Ages, a nursing home volunteer outreach program they founded.

Gather on the call with your families, loved ones, and local groups; all are welcome!

The schedule for each evening will include:

  • Welcome
  • Music/song
  • Litany of Repentance
  • Scriptural readings from one of the upcoming days of the current week of Lent
  • A reflection from this year’s Lenten reflection booklet
  • Prayers of the faithful
  • Closing prayer
  • (Optional) Breakout rooms for discussion and sharing immediately following the prayer service for those who would like to stay on
