Pax Christi Delegation at the UN

Pax Christi International sent a delegation to the 65th DPI/NGO Conference at the UN from August 27th to the 29th.  The theme was “The World We Want Post-2015” – marking the year when the Millenium Development Goals will be replaced by the Sustainable Development Goals. Our delegation included members of our Pax Christi  International UN Team, Pax Christi Metro New York, Pax Christi New Jersey and Pax Christi Long Island.  Additionally, last spring two members of Pax Christi Illinois participated in the Commission on the Status of Women.  All have found their experience worthwhile.

For those in the Metro New York area, there are countless opportunities to attend programs and workshops relevant to your issue of advocacy. For those farther away, consider a trip to New York to participate in the DPI/NGO Conference (end of summer), the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference, the Commission on the Status of Women, the Commission on Social Development, or the Permanent Forum on the Indigenous – all which take place in the spring.

How can we best respond to these opportunities?  For more information contact Beth Begley at b.begley@paxchristi.net.
