Pax Christi USA is excited to announce that this July we’ll be hosting our first National Conference since 2016, the first in what will be an annual event going forward. Due to the ongoing uncertainty regarding the pandemic and protocols for in-person gatherings, the 2021 Pax Christi USA National Conference will be virtual with plans for the 2022 version, celebrating our 50th anniversary, to be in-person.
Save-the-Date! The Pax Christi USA National Conference will be Friday, July 30th and Saturday, July 31st. We’re excited to announce that Olga Segura, author of Birth of a Movement: Black Lives Matter and the Catholic Church is our opening keynote speaker for the conference, with Bishop John Stowe, OFM Conv, Bishop-President of Pax Christi USA confirmed as the celebrant and homilist for our closing Mass. A special pre-conference event is being organized by the Catholic Nonviolence Initiative for Friday prior to the opening welcome, prayer and keynote, and workshops, panel discussions, and music are currently being planned to flesh out the conference. Beginning in May, we’ll also launch the second in our series of #LoveIsPolitical: Literary Circles for Liberation, studying together Ms. Segura’s new book in preparation for her keynote at the National Conference. (Details for registration for the study circles will follow in the next two weeks.)
We’ll be announcing more details in the coming weeks and opening registration soon! For now, please save-the-date, July 30-31, 2021, in your calendars and plan on joining us from wherever you are!
We’re thrilled to gather the Pax Christi USA family, our partners and friends together in this special way and to begin building the excitement for celebrating our legacy and looking to the future of our movement as we draw closer to our 50th anniversary year in 2022. Plan on joining us for the 2021 Pax Christi USA National Conference, July 30-31!
