Progress towards justice or the punitive status quo. You make the call.
Recently hundreds of faith based advocates heard from the White House and faith leaders including the NCC’s Rev. Aundreia Alexandria about the ongoing struggle for criminal justice reform. Now we need to call our Senators to make our voices heard. The Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act is currently languishing in limbo. It has broad bi-partisan support but a few extreme voices are holding up progress on vital reforms. Let us pull together and get this bill passed. Please call your Senators to let them know you want them to support the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act (SRCA), the first comprehensive criminal justice reform bill in over 30 years. This is a step in the right direction towards turning the tide on the mass incarceration crisis plaguing our country. For more information on SRCA, click here.

- Introduce yourself as a constituent and a person of faith to the person who answers the phone and tell them you would like to leave a message for the Senator on legislation.
- “Please tell Senator _____ that as a person of faith I support the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act and urge the Senator to support it as well and encourage their party leadership to bring it to the floor for a vote.”
- Ask for an email or written reponse to your call.
