from the Newtown Foundation
A few weeks ago, we sent this postcard invitation to the National Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence to every member of Congress.
By December 14, 2014, the 2nd anniversary of the Sandy Hook shootings, more than 60,000 Americans nationwide will have died from gunshot wounds. As Americans we are all touched by gun violence. That is why we must keep the focus on the shame and tragedy of gun violence in our nation and why we must ask our leaders to take action.
We are hoping that many of our congressional representatives will join the families of victims of gun violence and advocates from 16+ states at the National Vigil in Washington DC or at the 178 local vigils/events being planned in 35+ states between December 11-14th. We will be posting the submitted finalized plans for these local vigils/events on our website this week.
If you live near the DC metropolitan area, please reserve your seats at the National Vigil here and please forward this e-mail to your family and friends who may be interested.
