On February 26, our son Trayvon Martin was shot and killed as he walked to a family member’s home from a convenience store where he had just bought some candy. He was only 17 years-old.
Trayvon’s killer, George Zimmerman, admitted to police that he shot Trayvon in the chest. Zimmerman, the community’s self appointed “neighborhood watch leader,” called the police to report a suspicious person when he saw Travyon, a young black man, walking from the store. But Zimmerman still hasn’t been charged for murdering our son.
Trayvon was our hero. At the age 9, Trayvon pulled his father from a burning kitchen, saving his life. He loved sports and horseback riding. At only 17 he had a bright future ahead of him with dreams of attending college and becoming an aviation mechanic. Now that’s all gone.
When Zimmerman reported Trayvon to the police, they told him not to confront him. But he did anyway. All we know about what happened next is that our 17 year-old son, who was completely unarmed, was shot and killed.
It’s been nearly two weeks and the Sanford Police have refused to arrest George Zimmerman. In their public statements, they even go so far as to stand up for the killer – saying he’s “a college grad” who took a class in criminal justice.
Please join us in calling on Norman Wolfinger, Florida’s 18th District State’s Attorney, to investigate my son’s murder and prosecute George Zimmerman for the shooting and killing of Trayvon Martin.

I do not understand why George Zimmerman has not yet been arrested for stalking Trayvon, since he admitted to it during his call to authorities minutes before Trayvon was killed. When this youngster realized he was being followed by Zimmerman, he had to think he was being stalked by someone who was probably a criminal looking for a victim, a racist or a sexual predator. Zimmerman terrorized Trayvon and should be jailed now for stalking while authorities work out other charges!!
so sorry for this families loss nothing we can do will ever replace their son, we at least can offer them the knowledge that his killer wont continue to roam free and take someone elses child. someone please do the right thing quickly before the community takes action this is a outrage one that wont go away.
My heart goes out to the Martin family. Words can’t describe what I think about this zimmerman guy. His police record needs to be put on BLAST a lot more. One charge was for assaulting a police officer, which was “some-how dropped”, and a domestic violence charge.Looking at those charges is enough to say hey, let’s check this guy out 24 days ago,if it was a stand-up police dept.

George Zimmerman made a choice to ignore the 911 Operator and pursue Trayvon Martin. George Zimmerson was not an Official Law Enforcement Officer for the city of Sanford, FL or a Law Enforcement Officer for the State of FL. George Zimmerman initated confortation with an unarmed Child and is now claiming Self Defense. My God, Please tell me that the Laws in our Great Nation does not support this Heinous Act

I think George Zimmerman should be charged. who does he think he is? If he was tbe neighborhood watchman i feel sorry for that neighborhood. HE DESERVES TO BE CHARGED WITH MURDER. because that is what this is. in my opinion. this young man did NOT deserve this. This man george zimmerman is a disgrace to God’s green earth. he should be severely punished for what he has done. this young man Trayvon Martin deserves justice.

Justice needed for this young man..I am a white 60 year old woman am appalled at this shooting..and then to blame it on the boy wearing a hooded sweatshirt…and Fox News should get rid of Geraldo for making such a comment as he did about hoodies…I wear hoodies for Gods sake as do many people I know…does that make us suspicious…Please get Justice for this young man and his family

I am a mother and member of a club I would never ever sign up for, My daughter was murdered 12 years ago, and I must say this breaks my heart. I also new a young girl who was murdered for this same so called resason * being black and acting a certain way based on their lack of understanding an acceptance that you have bad people no matter what race* in Los Angeles CA approx, 20 years ago. No matter how much the government attempt to cover up the injustice against different races in our own country yet racing to other countries to fix their problems it is a BIG PROBLEM. My heart goes out to his parents and Not just Stanford, FL but the USA needs to realize that this is a epidemic and it will not stop until we treat the fears of people who have been victimized by any race. i think what Zimmerman did is ok for what happened I mean im not saying shooting a 17yr old is ok but if somebody was in my neighborhood that didnt belong i would confront him. One thing I havent heard in the media is all the black on white hate crimes I wonder why? Do they think that racism only works one way? I hate how the media is so one sided and the people of this country and not smart enough to look into EVERYTHING not just what they see on tv
