On Friday, August 28, during the regularly scheduled monthly call for Pax Christi local, regional, and state leaders, we will offer a special program of election protection scenarios.

Led by organizer Drew Astolfi, participants will be provided structured simulations that allow them to rehearse how they will recognize, respond to, document, and de-escalate disruptions to voting and election administration before an actual election occurs. The goal is not simply to teach people what to do, but to build muscle memory, role clarity, communication protocols, and confidence under pressure.

Drew Astolfi is a veteran community organizer who has spent four decades helping ordinary people build organizations, develop leaders, and win power in their communities. He currently works with grassroots organizations across the Western United States, supporting organizers and leaders working on economic justice, democratic participation, and the future of rural and working-class communities.
He is a trainer and coach with the Organizing Lab’s Lead Organizer Cohort and helps lead the Western State Power Hub, a regional effort connecting grassroots organizations from the Northern Plains to the Southwest.
Drew believes that lasting political change begins with people learning to act together, building organizations strong enough to contest for power, hold institutions accountable, and govern the places they call home.
