Glory to God in the highest, and peace to all on Earth! What Good News – God is with us!

In this year’s Advent reflection booklet, Flora x. Tang, a member of the Pax Christi USA Young Adult Caucus, writes: “The birth of Jesus and God’s incarnation marks God’s ultimate promise of peace in a turbulent world, both for the world 2,000 years ago and for the world today.God’s peace promises neither stillness nor passivity, but deliverance of the oppressed and active mercy to those who are suffering. … In a time of year marked by literal darkness, God’s dawning light ‘shall break upon us.’ It shall ‘shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death,’ and it shall ‘guide our feet into the way of peace.’”

We are deeply grateful for all of the ways Pax Christi USA members and supporters have been lights of Christ in this past year – the public witnesses for justice, democracy, mercy; the creativity and the joyful noise; the persistent advocacy and truth-telling; and the endless prayers. Your faith, your belief in peace, and your commitment to Gospel nonviolence continue to inspire and humble us.

May we walk together in the coming year, sharing the light with one another.
