Pax Christi USA is recruiting a new anti-racism team. Are you being called?

Pax Christi USA is beginning a process to recruit and train a new team for our Anti-Racism Initiative. We hope to build a team whose members who are racially, generationally, geographically, and gender diverse.

For more than 25 years Pax Christi USA has been committed to transforming itself into an anti-racism multicultural Catholic movement for peace with justice. (Read more about it here.) While we have made great strides, much work still needs to be done.

As Philadelphia Archbishop Nelson Pérez reminds us in his 2023 pastoral letter on racial healing, “‘Despite their monumental efforts and the work of so many others, this evil continues to poison our souls, our Church, our relationships with one another, and with God. Racism shreds the fabric of our communities, hinders our unity, and impedes the building of God’s kingdom on earth.”

Our new anti-racism team will help us continue our anti-racism work by building on what has already been done and creating new ways to help Pax Christi USA fulfill its commitment to becoming an anti-racism movement.

Our anti-racism work is based on the conviction that dismantling racism is only possible by transforming the structures, policies, procedures, and cultures of every religious, social, economic, and political institution in our nation — beginning with our own. Members of our anti-racism team will acquire skills, resources, and methods to engage in anti-racism institutional transformation work within Pax Christi and by extension throughout the U.S. Catholic Church and the nation.

  1. I am definitely interested in joining the anti-racism team, but very concerned about being in DC those days right after the election. Late Oct would feel better.

  2. I cannot make this commitment but so will want to follow the work of the team with the hope that they will pass on to me ” direction ” for my leadership in my parish . To bad that I do not have the opportunity to ” audit ” the DC meetings ; perhaps that can change ….
