From February 27 until March 3, Pax Christi USA Ambassador of Peace Scott Wright has been participating in an ecumenical delegation to Bethlehem. The group, representing Pax Christi USA, Friends of Sabeel North America, the Palestinian Christian Alliance for Peace, Kairos USA, the Indiana Center for Middle East Peace, and others, has been visiting Palestinian religious, political, and NGO leaders in the West Bank. They will return to Washington, DC on March 4 and will visit Congressional offices on March 5-6.
>>On Wednesday, March 6, in Washington DC, two ecumenical events are planned in support of these meetings: 1) a vigil and demonstration at Lafayette Park outside the White House at noon, and 2) a prayer service at Calvary Baptist Church (755 8th Street NW) at 7 PM Eastern.
>>Please consider organizing a similar witness — a demonstration, a prayer or worship event, or an educational and informational event — in your area on March 6 in support of the delegation and its call for a ceasefire, for immediate humanitarian relief for the people of Gaza, and for a process to bring about a solution that will ensure justice for the Palestinian people and a future of peace and dignity for all.
