From March 6-17, the UN community will gather in New York for the 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). As part of the NGO Committee on the Status of Women, Pax Christi International will host a special side event on the role of women in peacekeeping, peace building, and peace mediation.

  • Sophie Jay, Pax Christi International’s UN Youth Representative
  • Elizabeth Kanini Kimau, a grassroots peace builder from Kenya, founder of the Horn of Africa Grassroots Peace Forum (HAP-Forum)
  • Sofia Ramyar, former executive director of Afghans for Progressive Thinking (APT) – a youth-led and youth-focused professional organization in Afghanistan which builds young men and women’s power and capacity to advocate for peace and security in the country
