What does it mean to journey together in community? This question is being taken up by Catholics worldwide as part of our synodal process from 2021-2023. In the midst of this, the Pax Christi USA Young Adult Caucus (PCYAC) asks a more specific question: what does it mean to journey together as young people committed to nonviolence? And how can we collectively build paths of peace, as Pope Francis calls us to do in his 2022 World Day of Peace message?

In an effort to further explore these questions and others like them, we invite you to join PCYAC as we gather for a weekend retreat on June 10-12 in Washington, D.C. Through contemplation, learning, and thoughtful encounters, we will consider the ways in which we can build peace together. There will be time for celebrating liturgies, individual reflection, intergenerational dialogue, and solidifying community. All people in their 20s and 30s committed to nonviolence as a way of life are welcome to attend.

Rooted in Catholicism, the Young Adult Caucus is dedicated to a space that is anti-racist, affirming of LGBTQ identities, and accessible to all. We acknowledge these commitments as goals toward which we actively strive, not as ends already achieved. We hope you will journey together with us toward them.
