Join Pax Christi USA members from around the U.S. for tonight’s Weekly Lenten Prayer Service, from 8:30-9pm ET. These 30 minute prayer services include readings from this year’s Lenten reflection booklet and reflections from the authors, Scripture readings, prayers of the faithful, and more. Tonight we’ll be joined by Nancy Small, former National Coordinator of Pax Christi USA and an Ambassador of Peace, who will be offering a short reflection on the readings for this upcoming Thursday of the first week of Lent. Nancy will read her reflection from the 2022 Lent booklet and expand upon it to include insights on the current moment.

This Lent, as we celebrate our 50th anniversary, at each of these prayer services, we’re remembering those who co-founded and built our community but have passed on to join that great cloud of witnesses. Tonight, we’re remembering:

  • Bishop Walter Sullivan, long-time bishop-president of Pax Christi USA and an Ambassador of Peace;
  • Nickie Valdez, former member of the Pax Christi USA Anti-Racism Team and National Council member;
  • and Tonie Malone, a long-time leader with Pax Christi New Jersey and Ambassador of Peace (read about Tonie on the Ambassadors of Peace page and one of her reflections here).
