Pax Christi USA has joined the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Jewish Voice for Peace, Christian Peacemaker Teams, School of the Americas Watch and other justice organizations and activists for the National March for Palestine in Washington, D.C., taking place on Saturday, May 29, from 3:00pm to 8:00pm, starting at the Lincoln Memorial and marching to Congress.

“Our communities are making connections and identifying patterns. We are organizing to stop the flow of financial ‘aid’ from the U.S. to many repressive regimes in countries around the world. From Palestine to Colombia, our communities are uniting to not only resist but to also build societies that uplift the dignity of all,” stated Roxana Bendezú, Pax Christi USA Program Director. “The cease-fire is not enough. The U.S. needs to stop sending money to the government of Israel that has been displacing people for 73 years.”

The march is a part of the new national #SanctionIsrael campaign calling on the Biden administration and Congress to sanction Israel and stop giving it billions in U.S. tax dollars and military hardware — like the very same bombs that the Israeli government just used to obliterate entire Palestinian families in the Gaza Strip.

TAKE ACTION:

1. Sign the petition to the Biden administration to sanction Israel, end weapons transfers, support war crimes trials against Israel, and support Palestinian liberation!

2. Call, write, and tweet at your Members of Congress to support the historic AOC/Sanders joint resolution to block bombs to Israel. Over the past few days, tens of thousands of calls, letters, and tweets have been generated, and our advocacy is making huge advances! This week, the House version of the resolution was officially released with 15 original sponsors and cosponsors.

3. Join the National March for Palestine on Washington, D.C. on Saturday, May 29.

  1. This petition and the public gathering are steps that are necessary to express support for the Palestinian people and hopefully promote peace for Palestinians and Israelis alike. The future for ourselves and our children can be shaped as so many dream. Peace.
