We continue to be haunted by images of immigrant children detained in deplorable conditions at our border. We are deeply disturbed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids and deportations tearing families and communities apart and traumatizing our children. We are angered by the Trump administration’s a new rule permitting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to detain indefinitely immigrant children and families seeking safety in the United States.

The faith community has condemned this cruel and inhumane treatment of immigrant children and families. Not only is it a violation of human dignity, it is contrary to religious teachings and our sacred call to care for people most at risk, especially children.

At 10:00 am on September 4 many of us will gather in Newark, NJ to protest the mistreatment of immigrant children and families. Solidarity events are planned around the country. We need your help to flood the Senate and the White House with calls and messages. We need your help to amplify our message to social media.

Please join us on Wednesday, September 4 to make our voices heard on behalf of our immigrant neighbors—especially the children!
