Recently through elections and council appointments, six new members are joining the Pax Christi USA National Council. They are Brian Ashmankas, Gerry Lee, Mary Kate Small, Barbara Michelle Sherman, Robert Shine, and Veronica Fellerath-Lowell.
It is very exciting to have these new members joining the work of the national council, and we look forward to their ideas, visions, and energy as we continue working towards peace and justice in our world.
For what it is worth, I am sending Pax Christi USA this notice. Here in the Green Bay Diocese we have two PC groups, one on the Lakeshore (Lake Michigan), and ours here in Omro/Oshkosh WI. The Omro group meets regularly for our round table discussion at the Casa Esther Catholic Worker House. One of the giants in our group passed away on Monday of this week. Her name is SANDY PUTMAN. She embodied the spirit of Pax Christi by her living a life of non-violence. She oozed with that spirit and it touched and moved everyone around her. As a priest whose task it is to speak for non-violence and peace-making, it was Sandra who was my personal mentor in this style of Pax Christi living. Her funeral is tomorrow in Oshkosh.
