The authors for the annual Pax Christi USA booklet of Advent reflections for 2016 have been selected. Pax Christi USA is pleased to announce that this year’s authors are Cathy Woodson, National Council Chair of Pax Christi USA, and Sr. Anne-Louise Nadeau, SNDdeN, Pax Christi USA’s Director of Programs.

Woodson is an active member of an inner city parish in the Diocese of Richmond. At the parish level, she has served as youth minister, Adult Faith Formation Coordinator, Social Justice Coordinator, and on a local Catholic school board of directors. At the diocesan level, she served on the Commission for Black Catholics, Women Commission, and the Justice & Peace Commission. She has also served on the Pax Christi Anti-Racism Team. Cathy’s professional work has been with 501c3 organizations, providing direct services and advocacy, and for the many years, working as a community organizer with a statewide grassroots organization in Virginia. Her community organizing work has been with communities whose voices are traditionally unheard, so her focus is working with those affected by injustices and moving them to advocate for themselves.

Prior to working at Pax Christi USA, Sr. Nadeau worked as Case Management Supervisor for the Families That Work Program at My Sister’s Place Women Center in Baltimore, Maryland. She holds a B.A. in Sociology/Social Work from Annhurst College and a M.A. in Pastoral Ministry and Counseling from Emmanuel College. As a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur she has worked extensively with young adults and adult learners at Sacred Heart University in Bridgeport, CT while serving in Campus Ministry, Director of the Personal Counseling Center and later as Associate Dean of Students. She also served on the leadership team of the Connecticut unit of the Sisters of Notre Dame and has been the co-chair of the SND/USA Anti-Racism Team.
Pax Christi USA’s Advent booklet has been one of its best-selling resources since it’s introduction in the mid-Eighties. It is an excellent resource for individual and small group reflection.
The Advent 2016 reflection booklet will be available for pre-orders beginning in mid-July and going through mid-September 2016. An electronic sample of the booklet will be available at that time.
