On October 23rd, Sr. Patty Chappell, SNDdeN, Executive Director of Pax Christi USA and Sr. Anne-Louise Nadeau, SNDdeN, Director of Programs for Pax Christi USA participated in an interdenominational service called “Beyond Tolerance: A Call to Religious Freedom and Hopeful Action.” It was held at the Washington National Cathedral and was attended by Muslims, Jews, Catholics, Evangelicals, as well as members of the Islamic and Sikh communities.

Rabbi David Saperstein, U.S. Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom gave a powerful reflection at the event.

Following the service, Sr. Chappell spoke with others at a press conference and then signed sign the pledge, “A Commitment to Religious Freedom.”
