IMMIGRATION: National Migration Week Masses and activities

Migration Mass at St. Catherine of Siena, 3pm Sunday, January 11^th in the Diocese of San Bernardino, CA. Mass will be celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Rutilio del Riego.

Way of the Cross of the Migrant Jesus on Jan. 6^th in the Diocese of Knoxville.

In the Archdiocese of Chicago:

1. Prayer service with Archbishop Blaise Cupich at 7 pm on Jan. 6^th at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.

The Archdiocese of Minneapolis will have immigration forum at 7 pm on Jan. 8^th at Guardian Angels Catholic Church.

Staff in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles are working with Catholic Charities on an event for Jan. 10^th. Some parishes are celebrating Masses and may be planning events during the week.

On Jan. 10^th at 4 pm, Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Washington, D.C., will host Sr. Norma Pimentel, the Executive Director of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley. She will describe the origins of the Humanitarian Respite Center at Sacred Heart Church (McAllen, TX) and the response to the recent influx of Central American refugees seeking asylum in the United States.

Not during National Migration Week, but the Diocese of Phoenix we will be holding a Mass for Migrants who have died crossing the Sonoran Desert on Feb. 20^th in downtown Phoenix.
