Pax Christi USA has signed onto this letter asking Congress to increase the federal minimum wage to $10.10 per hour. In addition, PCUSA supports raising the tipped wage to at least 70% of the minimum wage.

$10.10 per hour is not enough to provide for family needs. It really needs to be $15.00 per hour. Additionally, why do you suggest that a tipped worker needs only 70% of the hourly wage? Does he or she not have the same needs as the worker that is not tipped? A worker should not be penalized for doing a good job and for the generosity of the person he/she serves. thank you and may God bless you abundantly.
