from the National Religious Campaign Against Torture

Last month, the Senate voted in support of provisions that would make it easier to transfer Guantanamo detainees to other countries, to allow temporary transfers for medical treatment, and to allow transfers to federal courts for trial.  This is a huge victory!  Thank you for your efforts over the years to close Guantanamo.

This is only the first step though; the provisions are part of the FY 2014 National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA.  The final version of the NDAA needs to be negotiated with the House of Representatives before these important Guantanamo-related provisions can be passed into law.

Please email your Members of Congress today!

Please email your Members of Congress and tell them that you support the Guantanamo transfer provisions in the Senate’s version of the NDAA and that you want them to become law.  We need to build upon our victory in the Senate to ensure that our country closes Guantanamo.
