Pax Christi InternationalAmbassador Boujemâa Delmi of Algeria, the Chairman of the Meeting of Experts and the Meeting of States Parties to the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention in 2012 has given NGOs the opportunity to make short statements in an informal session at the opening day of the Meeting of Experts taking place in Geneva, 16 – 20 July 2012.

On 16 July 2012, Enrique Sierra delegate of Pax Christi International at the United Nations presented an oral and written submission entitled “Biosecurity for Everyone.”

Pax Christi International strongly believes that international treaties including the BTWC are valuable instruments for protecting human life and dignity anywhere in the world.

The movement is convinced that the work of the Meeting of Experts should ultimately contribute to human security and respect for human rights, be it in the countryside in the Least Developed Countries or in highly industrialised cities.
