FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sr. Anne-Louise Nadeau joins PCUSAWashington, D.C.—Pax Christi USA announced that Sr. Anne-Louise Nadeau, SNDdeN has joined the national staff as the Director of Programs. Sr. Nadeau’s responsibilities will include developing, implementing and overseeing the programs of Pax Christi USA related to its primary initiative areas of the spirituality of non-violence and peacemaking; disarmament, demilitarization and reconciliation with justice; economic and interracial justice in the United States; and human rights and global restoration.

“Pax Christi USA is delighted to welcome Sr. Anne-Louise Nadeau, SNDdeN, to our national staff. As Director of Programs, Sister brings her talents and skills to assist PCUSA in the implementation of national programs based on its priority initiatives,” stated Sr. Patricia Chappell, SNDdeN, Executive Director of Pax Christi USA. “Her ongoing commitment to social justice coupled with her artistic capabilities promises to be a ‘good fit’ for PCUSA. Our staff and National Council look forward to working with Sr. Anne-Louise and congratulates her as she begins this new position.”

Sr. Nadeau comes to Pax Christi USA after working as Case Management Supervisor for the Families That Work Program at My Sister’s Place Women Center in Baltimore, Maryland. She holds a B.A. in Sociology/Social Work from Annhurst College and a M.A. in Pastoral Ministry and Counseling from Emmanuel College. As a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur she has worked extensively with young adults and adult learners at Sacred Heart University in Bridgeport, CT while serving in Campus Ministry, Director of the Personal Counseling Center and later as Associate Dean of Students. She also served on the leadership team of the Connecticut unit of the Sisters of Notre Dame and continues to be the co-chair of the SND/USA Anti-Racism Team.

“I bring to Pax Christi USA a love for learning and a profound respect for the quest for knowledge that leads to transformation,” stated Sr. Nadeau. “In my previous work I had the privilege of accompanying pregnant, homeless women and children and experienced firsthand the unjust structures that keep people begging for what they need to live with dignity. Our programs must address the needs of real people who daily struggle in a violent and inhuman environment to claim what is rightfully theirs.”

Sr. Nadeau began work on July 2 and is based in Pax Christi USA’s national headquarters at the Center of Concern in Washington, D.C.

“I am delighted to be working with people for whom peace-making for justice is a lifelong passion and nor merely a project or a pastime,” said Sr. Nadeau. “I look forward to working with the staff and others to continue developing programs that deepen the spiritual and Biblical foundation of peace with justice, thereby creating a more just and equitable society where people enjoy the basic human rights that all are entitled to.”

  1. I am thrilled to hear that Sr. Anne-Louise Nadeau SND is the new Director of Programs for Pax Christi USA. She will bring much to this position. I have known Anne-Louise for many years- especially through the work of the USA Anti-Racism Team of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. I look forward to bringing and using her materials and information to the Pax Christi Beverly MA group for our reflection/action on various peace issues of Pax Christi.

  2. WELCOME, Anne-Louise, from an old friend, Daughter of the Holy Spirit! I KNOW your passion for peace and justice from way back when and look forward to your creative contributions!
