Pax Christi Michigan’s 31st Annual State Conference:
POWER: Who Lies? Who Dies? Who Pays? Who Profits?

PAX CHRISTI MICHIGAN is thrilled and honored to present TWO outstanding keynote speakers. Our first is Tom Cordaro. Tom, author of the book, Be Not Afraid: An Alternative to the War on Terror (2008), has drawn broad national and literary acclaim, making him a highly sought after speaker. He has been involved in peace and justice education and advocacy for over 30 years. Since 1997 he has served as the Justice and Outreach Minister at St. Margaret Mary Parish in Naperville, IL. Prior to that he was involved in campus ministry and parish peace and justice work in Iowa, Pennsylvania and Florida from 1976. He is also a former staff member and former National Council Chairperson of Pax Christi USA. Trailers of Tom’s challenging presentations can be seen on YouTube.

Our second wonderful keynote speaker, Sr. Patricia Chappell, SNDdeN, is the new Executive Director of Pax Christi USA. She has trained with Crossroads in anti-racism training and organizing, and serves as the national co-chair on her community’s anti-racism team. She was the full-time president of the National Black Sisters’ Conference from 1996-2001, and is on the Board of Trustees for Trinity University in D.C. In taking her new position, she said: “I am most humbled and pleased to have been offered the position of Executive Director of Pax Christi USA. I look forward to continuing and deepening Pax Christi’s commitment to transforming itself into an anti-racist, multicultural movement for peace with justice.”   We are pleased to host these two gifted presenters.

The conference takes place April 21 in Troy, MI.
