January 8, 2026 — Rooted in Catholic social teaching and Gospel nonviolence, Pax Christi USA stands in solidarity with our immigrant sisters and brothers.
We deplore the violent actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, actions that have traumatized people across the country for months, leading to mass incarcerations and deportations.
We mourn the loss of Renee Nicole Good, the woman who was murdered by an ICE agent in Minneapolis yesterday — we pray for her family and loved ones. We are horrified and outraged at this action and that medical personnel were denied access to her. A full, transparent investigation must be held to hold those responsible to account.
God of love and mercy, we know you are with us always, even at times of tremendous pain and suffering. Help strengthen our commitment to nonviolence, to justice, to continuing to walk with our neighbors, sisters, and brothers.
