  1. Thank you for sharing this post. You are right on the mark. I am a supporter of the Amistad Catholic Worker, New Haven, Connecticut. we have just got some tiny homes for our house neighbors dealing with the city and state and getting a zoning but we’re finally getting there

  2. Many thanks, Father Nangle for reminding us of the prophetic and mostly ignored warnings by Reverend King on this day of call to moral action in D.C. President Biden says he abhors Christian Nationalism but his disgusting servitude to the merchants of weaponry and his repudiation of Catholic social teaching by acting as a co-conspirator alongside Israel in the genocide of Palestinians, is facilitating and promoting everything evil about CN. For Joe Biden, it’s the Party (the uni-party of both nationalistic Democrats and Republicans) and U.S. control of the world what counts. God comes in a distant third after Party and Country and then only if religious leaders support his agenda openly or condone it with their silence ( our Catholic bishops) in the face of the mass murdering taking place in Gaza as I write this comment.

  3. As I read Fr Joe’s truthful work telling of Martin Luther King I imagined Thomas Merton smiling and addressing Dr King as “Brother”. Both of these ministers had the same ideas about Church and State.
I suppose that the remedy for our dilemma today will come from the rank and file, the underclass, those with nothing to loose. It is coming now from those children, women and men nailed to the cross of Gaza and, sad to say, from those delaying ships in the Red Sea. They have one thing in common, nothing to loose.
Thank you Fr Joe for peeling away the gold paint and showing us the true view of Dr King.
