The Fire this Time: Introducing the New Black Catholic Sourcebook

Loyola Marymount University (LMU) invites you to an online colloquium: Center for Religion and Spirituality (CRS) professor Michael Howard will engage theological studies professors Kim Harris and Layla Karst about their work on The Fire This Time: A Black Catholic Sourcebook. This new book from GIA Publications is for liturgists, musicians, parish committees, catechists, students, scholars, interested family and friends, as well as fellow travelers of different faith communities, and allies who continue to journey and struggle alongside members of the Black Catholic community.
 
In addition to an overview and introduction to the resource, Prof. Karst will discuss their work on “A Liturgy of Lament,” and Prof. Harris will guide us through the final entry, “Let The Church Roll On,” by Bishop Fernand J. Cheri III, OFM.
