On campus at the University of Rhode Island
- Explore: Meet and learn more about local peace organizations such as SOAR/RICADV, Pax Christi RI, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County; SNAP Outreach for college students, Euphrates Institute, Dorcas International, Nonviolent Schools RI, Westerly Monthly Meeting and FCNL, and The Peace Flag Project.
- Express: Peaceful arts and ideas with Ginny Fox, the Peace Flag Project.
- Listen: Peace music and songs.
- Enjoy: Peace poems with Professor Ann Salzarulo-McGuigan, 11:30.
- Stand for Peace: Say peace for the URI Human Peace-sign photo, 12:00.
- Mediate: Mindfulness meditation with visiting scholar Tsering Gyaltsen, 1:00.
- Practice: Yoga with instructor Deirdre Morrison, 1:30
AT 6 PM, Wilcox Park Esplanade, 44 Broad Street, Westerly RI 02891, all are welcome to join the Westerly Area Peace and Justice, Rotary Club of Westerly, and Pax Christi Rhode Island for a special program to commemorate the International Day of Peace. The event will include songs and prayers from many faith traditions, plus a call to action.
