Pax Christi USA is once again partnering with Casa Esther Catholic Worker House (Omro WI) and the Catholic Nonviolence Initiative, a project of Pax Christi International, to provide a four-week series on nonviolence, starting September 21, for university students, staff, faculty, and the general public.
Additional partners include Franciscan Action Network, Maryknoll Monarch Initiative, Dorothy Day Guild, Holy Cross College, Manhattan University, and the Catholic Mobilizing Network.
This year’s theme, “Creative nonviolence at work in the world today,” will explore the ways our understanding of nonviolence has developed, how it is implemented, and how we can integrate it into our daily lives.

Each session will be held on a Monday evening starting at 7 PM Eastern. All are 90 minutes long.

Week 1 – September 21 – Nonviolence 101: Philosophy and practice with Ken Butigan and Rivera Sun
Week 2 – September 28 – Global examples of active nonviolence with Amira Musalam from Unarmed Civilian Protection in Palestine and others to be announced
Week 3 – October 5 – Intentional communities: Living nonviolence, solidarity, and resistance with Martha Hennessy, Marie Dennis, Camila Perez, and Bethany & Duncan Hilton
Week 4 – October 12 – Conversation with campus leaders and activists with Marie Adele Grosso, Rozella Apel-Hernandez, and Joryan Hernandez; facilitated by Maria Stephan and Alicia Talamas
