Support Pax Christi Metro DC-Baltimore’s efforts to promote Pope Francis’s prophetic messages

Pax Christi Metro DC-Baltimore is once again running a full-page ad in the National Catholic Reporter, and they would love support from the wider Pax Christi community.

On one critical issue after another — ending war and the arms trade, abolishing nuclear weapons, addressing the climate crisis, eliminating the death penalty, and welcoming immigrants/rejecting racism and exclusion — Pope Francis has significantly advanced Catholic social teaching. But when is the last time you heard a sermon or read a bulletin article devoted to these topics?

Pax Christi Metro DC-Baltimore’s ad calls on bishops and priests to amplify the pope’s prophetic messages, so the faithful hear them loud and clear.

Sign on to show your support and make a donation to help cover the publication cost. The text of the ad appears here. It will occupy the top portion of the page, with the names of all the people signing on to the ad listed below the text. The ad will refer readers to the Pax Christi Metro DC-Baltimore website if they want additional information, including a background paper that elaborates on the issues.

To cover the publication costs, Pax Christi Metro DC-Baltimore is requesting a $25 donation for each individual (or couple) signing on to the ad, and $50 for each organization, but any amount will be gratefully accepted. The aim is to publish in the middle of September which will need about four weeks’ lead time, so please make your donation to sign on now, and spread the word through your own networks.
