DEATH PENALTY: Manuel Valle to be executed in Florida

Pax Christi USA reiterates its objection to the use of the death penalty within the U.S. system of justice. As the state of Florida prepares to execute Manuel Valle today, we challenge state lawmakers–especially those who claim to be pro-life–to speak out in opposition to this execution and all executions. Pax Christi USA joins with the Florida bishops who wrote Governor Scott, stating, “Killing someone because they killed diminishes respect for life and promotes a culture of violence and vengeance,” and asking for a stay of execution for Manuel Valle.

Members of Pax Christi Florida will be protesting the execution at various locales throughout the state, including the state prison in Starke, Florida.
