A request from Pax Christi Haiti
Pax Christi Port au Prince was blessed and honored to see Bishop Thomas Gumbleton in our midst just two weeks after the quake. As always we were inspired by his life and his love for this country that is facing such sorrow.
While he was here, he visited our project with the children in Cite Soleil that promotes the culture of peace as the way. His visit inspired Pax Christi Port au Prince to this action to first thank the world for such a good solidarity toward the people of Haiti, and second to encourage the sign of peace we could see toward this action to be more long lasting.
This is why on the day of February 12, as it is already decided by the church in Haiti, we would like to encourage all sections and branches of Pax Christi International in the world to have doves flying after a prayer as a sign for peace and love in the world. This is the perfect opportunity to encourage people to stop war and to find the way of peace.
There is a lot we can do through this disaster to honor the victims of Haiti. Please share this article so more people who are working for peace could know about what they can do for Haiti.
Thank you so much.
